Northeast US Safest Place for Pre-Certified Cars

February 27, 2009 | Posted by jcme

pre certified carsIf you’re driving your pre-certified cars in the northeastern region of the United States, you’re in one of the safest places in the nation. According to a recent report released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Mortality and Morbidity Weekly Report, there are huge differences in the number of fatal accidents involving motor vehicles among different areas.

According to the report, the number of fatal accidents in the Northeast was 36 percent lower than other areas of the nation. Here are some of the numbers that were released in the report:

• 9.8 deaths per 100,000 people in the Northeast
• 14.7 deaths per 100,000 people in the Midwest
• 14.2 deaths per 100,000 people in the West
• 19.5 deaths per 100,000 people in the South
That basically means that if you are driving through a southern state like Georgia or Mississippi, you are four times more likely to get in a fatal car accident than if you were driving through Pennsylvania or New Jersey.

Keep this in mind when shopping for a car from your Toyota certified dealer. Your pre-certified cars and your lives are safer on the roads here than in any other part of the country.

Toyota Pushing Hybrid Certified Pre-Owned Cars

February 25, 2009 | Posted by jcme

new carsDid you know you can get hybrid certified pre-owned cars at your Toyota certified dealer now? Toyota has been pushing its new hybrid certified pre-owned program lately to get more people interested in used hybrid cars. Some may have never even considered hybrid cars because they weren’t available in used condition and they couldn’t afford new ones. Others are trading in their hybrids for new ones and the automaker has to do something with the hybrids they receive as trade-ins.

Toyota also expects Prius drivers to trade in their current cars for the new Prius models when they hit dealer lots.

For information on the new promotion, you can visit the ToyotaCertifiedHybrids.com website. You may also be hearing some commercials on the radio and see some advertisements on television for the new campaign. Dealers also have brochures about the certified hybrids.

The certified hybrid program will work much like the current certified pre-owned cars program. The hybrids will not receive certification if they do not pass the rigorous inspection process. They certified hybrids will also come with a similar warranty that current certified pre-owned cars come with so you can be sure you are getting a quality hybrid at a price much less than brand new.

Discussing Road Salt and Car Damage on Certified Used Cars

February 23, 2009 | Posted by jcme

used carsDid you know that they salt the road crews spread on the roads in the winter can damage your certified used cars? It used to be much worse than it is today, but car manufacturers are giving cars a zinc coating to protect them from the salt. However, this isn’t always 100 percent foolproof.

First of all, the zinc coating is good unless there is a spot where the coating has deteriorated. This spot can still get rusty if it picks up salt from the roads. The road salt can also get in the undercarriage of your certified used car and eat away at vulnerable parts like exhausts, brake lines and more.

Park of the problem is that road crews have used more than just regular road salt. In recent years, they have been using brine solutions that can also damage the paint job and undercarriage of your certified used cars. Since it is a liquid mixture, it is more likely to get in the crevices of your undercarriage that regular road salt may have bounced off of.

You can combat this damage by washing your certified used car after every snow storm. Make sure to wash the undercarriage well, too. Also, you can visit the service garage at your Toyota certified dealer for a checkup to make sure there are no corroding parts caused by road salt or brine. If you take some extra measures to take care of your certified used car, it will take care of you for many years.

Gear Up for Baseball Season with Your Pre-Certified Cars

February 20, 2009 | Posted by jcme

Get your pre-certified cars washed and shined to get ready for the Philadelphia Phillies season as World Series Champions. It’s going to be a great season as they defend their championship against other teams in the league. The good news is that season tickets for the Philly’s 2009 season are now on sale!

The tickets went on sale at 7:30 a.m. yesterday morning at the team’s website. So far, thousands of tickets have sold and there has been an increase of about 20 percent in sales over last year’s figures. Part of the reason for the excitement for the upcoming season is due to the fact that the Phillies did not lose a single playoff game at home. As a result, Phillies fans are going to flood Citizens Bank Park this season every chance they get.

The first game of the Phillies season happens at home on Sunday night, April 5. They will be playing the Atlanta Braves. Can you think of any better way to go to the game than in a pre-certified car from your Toyota certified dealer? You may not be on the team, but you can feel like a winner when you arrive in style.

Certified Pre-Owned Cars More Popular Than New Cars

February 18, 2009 | Posted by jcme

President’s Day Weekend was a great weekend for many certified pre-owned car dealers. Consumers are still turning their backs on new cars because they are trying to manage their money better in today’s uncertain economic times.

Some car dealers can predict how car sales are going to go for the year based on the President’s Day Weekend sales. Patrick Gannon, the sales manager at a dealer in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, is gearing up for a year of good sales based on this past weekend. “Traditionally if you have a good Presidents Day, you have a very, very good year,” he said in an interview with a local newspaper.

Another dealer down the street from Gannon had similar results, selling 33 certified pre-owned cars, new cars and used cars. “We had a fabulous weekend,” she said. “It was great. Customers were excited and all my salespeople did a great job.”

Don’t be the only one driving around in that old beater that you’ve had for several years. Instead, visit your Toyota certified dealer today and get behind the wheel of a certified pre-owned car. It’s still not too late to start off the new year just right!

Certified Used Cars May Get You Out of the Doghouse

February 16, 2009 | Posted by jcme

If you forgot to get your significant other something for Valentine’s Day on Saturday, a certified used car may be the ticket out of the doghouse. Imagine pulling into the driveway with a big bow on a new certified used car for your spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend or even your mom. Here are some advantages that they will enjoy when you buy them a certified used car.

• Long-term warranty – A certified used car comes with a better warranty than a normal used car. Many of them are still under their original new car warranty depending on their age and mileage. Most manufacturers also offer a roadside assistance feature with the warranty on their certified used cars.
• Better price – A certified used car is more affordable than a new car because the previous owner has already taken the “financial hit” of the depreciation.
• Like-new driving – A certified used car drives like a brand new car. And since they go through a strict testing process before getting the “certified” label, they are almost as good as a new car.

Your Toyota certified dealer would be more than happy to help you find a car to get you out of the doghouse. Visit us today and see what we can do for you!

Don’t Fill Up Your Pre-Certified Cars at Expensive Gas Stations

February 13, 2009 | Posted by jcme

Do you like to find a place with a decent gas price when looking to fill up your pre-certified cars? Gas prices have come down drastically since the summer months, but apparently nobody has told this guy.

Eel Chang owns a gas station that sells Exxon fuel in Summit, New Jersey. The price for the gas at this station is $4.899. In July, that may have been normal. However, less than one mile away, drivers of pre-certified cars can purchase gas for $1.799 per gallon. That seems to be closer to the normal gas prices throughout the state which averages out to be about $1.598 per gallon according to GasBuddy.com.

Although drivers are mad about the high prices, Chang doesn’t seem to care. “There is always someone who needs gas and is willing to pay what I charge,” he said. “The whole name of the game for me is to be profitable.” Chang also says it’s not completely his fault about the high prices because Exxon charges him more than neighboring stations because of where his station is located. Those charges get passed along to the consumer.

Your Toyota certified dealer wants to help you keep as much money in your pocket as possible. That’s why we offer this tip: Just because a station charges more for a gallon of gas does not mean that it is better than the gas down the street.
