2009 Toyota Matrix Review

March 23, 2009 | Posted by jcme

The 2009 Toyota Matrix is one of the most appealing new vehicles for 2009. This compact wagon is not only practical, it’s also refined. This compact hatchback has been redesigned for 2009, and features a new 2.4 liter engine and adds the option of all wheel drive.

One of the more interesting options for the 2009 Toyota Matrix is the XRS trim level. The XRS gives an independent rear suspension, along with a front strut tower brace and shocks and springs that are firmer.

One of the most distinct characteristics of the 2009 Toyota Matrix is that it’s just fun to drive. It handles well, and is both stable and secure. The larger engine provides a little more boost, and the interior is as spacious and ergonomic as ever.

The ultimate in practicality, this vehicle is a wonderful candidate for a small family or for anyone who wants the convenience of a small hatchback combined with Toyota’s reliability, comfort, and fuel economy.

Toyota Drivers Enjoy Recycling

March 20, 2009 | Posted by jcme

If the reason you choose to drive a Toyota car is for its fuel efficiency, you probably enjoy doing other positive things for the environment, too. One great thing you can do is to recycle. Here are five facts about recycling that you may not have known.

• Aluminum cans are one of the most common items that people recycle. There is no limit as to how many times you can recycle an aluminum can and it can go through the entire process and be back on store shelves within 60 days.
• If every person in the United States recycled 10 percent of their newspapers, we would save more than 25 million trees each year.
• Americans use about 85,000,000 tons of paper each year. That averages out to be about 680 pounds per person.
• Americans use more than 2.5 million plastic bottles each hour! Unfortunately, most of them are simply thrown into the trash can.
• The United States produces more trash each year than any other nation. We only account for about five percent of the world’s population but we create about 40 percent of the trash.

Some of these numbers are staggering. But you can help by getting a new or certified hybrid from your Doylestown area Toyota dealer and start saving fuel and helping the environment today!

Five Basic Facts about Hybrids

March 11, 2009 | Posted by jcme

As Toyota recently reported selling more than one million hybrids since the introduction of the Prius to the United States market, hybrids continue to fly off dealer lots. However, sometimes we take for granted that everybody knows what a hybrid car actually is. If you are one of these people, here are a few basic facts about hybrids that will help you in your next car-buying decision.

1. Toyota hybrids typically have a traditional engine and an electric motor. When the car is driving at low speeds, the electric motor powers it. The traditional engine kicks in at higher speeds.
2. Some Toyota hybrids offer you as many as 15 or 20 extra miles per gallon over a traditional fuel-powered vehicle.
3. Even with hybrids, driving habits play a role in how many miles you get from each gallon of fuel.
4. Hybrid cars have fewer emissions, making them better for the environment in many ways.
5. When comparing costs of hybrids and traditional cars, hybrids often put more money in your pocket when gas prices are unusually high. Contrary to popular belief, today’s hybrids are also not any more expensive to fix than normal cars.

Your Toyota dealer near Doylestown, PA has a variety of hybrid models that you can look at and compare. It doesn’t hurt to check one out today!
